Freddie Gibbs is playing in Atlanta at the Spring 4th Center on August 28th. If you haven’t heard hisĀ Str8 Killa EP you’re missing out on some of the most authentic hip-hop of the moment; no one is rapping like Freddie and he delivers live, too.
Scion is at again with yet another split EP. They brought together two southern numbers to get you through the end of the summer.
Cheap Time’s “Proper Introduction” is an eye opener. The intro is so ear grabbing, that it makes me want to jump up and run a lap around my room every time I hear it. They make you want to revert back to your teenage years, lock your bedroom door, turn your speakers up and go crazy and sing their lyrics as loud as you can.
Bad Sports’ “Would You Wait For Me Too?” is an instant summer anthem for anyone who has been involved with a fickle heart. The power punk-y number feels so good to move around to, that you just might forget that you’re waiting on a lost love.
I know it’s been a while since we’ve done something over here at The Atlanta Dolls, but we’re working on getting this loafing ass ship back in full motion. While we’re making changes, we decided it was time to add an extra pair of hands around here. Our newest addition to the pack, Kitty, is a writer, rapper and another resident wild child around the building. Check out her blog here.
Atlanta’s very own, The Black Lips (top), and Portland based band, Pierced Arrows (bottom) have teamed up with Scion AV to release a limited edition 7″ split EP that drops today. It’s part of a series where where they bring bands to NYC to play a free show and record limited edition 7″s – all sales go directly to the artists. I never listened to much of Pierced Arrows, but I have to say that I was impressed with “The Doorway”. I already know that The Black Lips never disappoint me and neither did their homage to their favorite napkin on “The Best Napkin I Ever Had”.

The internet has been buzzing over Gwinnett County’s very own, Rittz, after he garnered attention with his feature on YelaWolf’s “Box Chevy Part 3″ earlier in the year. The Dolls had the opportunity to hang out with Rittz at Atlantic Station and film a dope interview. His new single, Rattleback, off his upcoming mixtape, White Jesus, leaks today! Make sure you click through the graphic to check it out and download it.
